Designers for Designers – innovations and case studies in the construction industry
On April 24, 2025, the ZEN.COM Expo Exhibition and Congress Center in Jasionka near Rzeszów hosted a technical conference entitled “Designers for Designers – innovations and case studies in the construction industry,” organized by MTA Engineering. The event brought together 165 participants from the construction industry.

The main goal of the conference was to promote knowledge transfer and its practical use in everyday design work. Participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with modern methods of designing building structures, advanced engineering analyses and innovative technologies presented by outstanding specialists from the industry and representatives of the academic community.
The conference was opened by Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Aleksander Kozłowski from Rzeszów University of Technology with a lecture on the design of high-rise buildings. Then, Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Lucjan Ślęczka from Rzeszów University of Technology discussed the assumptions, schedule and changes introduced in the second generation of Eurocode 3. Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Tomasz Siwowski presented the design of a road tunnel along the S-19 expressway. In the second block of lectures, Stanisław Wowra from MESco presented computer simulations supporting code calculations. Francesco Profico from ArcelorMittal presented composite structures using specific case studies. Then, Jan Rączkowski from Mostostal Kraków discussed the assembly process of the steel structure of the Avicii Arena in Stockholm.

In the third block, Dr. Hab. Eng. Robert Studziński, prof. of Poznań University of Technology, presented the general method in the design of steel structures, showing a detailed algorithm of the procedure and the effectiveness of this method on practical examples. Artur Skóra from Hilti presented HILTI MT steel rail systems as supporting and secondary structures, and Dr. Eng. Łukasz Jarno from JD Engineering focused on the issues of nonlinear engineering analysis, explaining, among others, the sources of nonlinearity and methods of solving nonlinear equations, such as Newton’s method or arc length.
Dr. Eng. Rafał Deptuła from ASMET presented research on tension forces in bolts depending on the tightening torque, using the example of a ring used at the National Stadium. Rafał Krzymowski from Construsoft introduced the topic of engineering competences needed in the 21st century, and Leszek Mrowiec from Dlubal Software presented the capabilities of the RFEM 6 program – including the analysis of the stability of cold-formed elements, cloud computing and a vision of the development of artificial intelligence in construction software. The conference was crowned by a presentation by Adam Wasilewski from MTA Engineering, who presented the iBIMroad project – an innovative approach to the transformation of design from 2D to 3D in construction processes.

The “Designers for Designers” conference has become a place for exchanging valuable knowledge, substantive discussions and establishing new professional contacts, while emphasizing the importance of direct meetings in the construction industry.
