Technical Break: Stability of Shells and Thermomechanical Coupling in RFEM 6
On October 1, 2025, another session in the “Technical Break” series organized by Dlubal Software took place, featuring M.Sc. Eng. Zbigniew Pasławski, a structural designer from MTA Engineering. The event, titled “Stability of Shells and Thermomechanical Coupling in RFEM 6”, was dedicated to the practical aspects of analyzing and designing shell structures using the Finite Element Method (FEM) in RFEM 6 software.

During the webinar, participants had the opportunity to explore the possibilities of modeling and analyzing structures in the context of stability, loss of load-bearing capacity, and the influence of thermal effects on structural behavior. The speaker presented, among other topics, methods for managing load cases and combinations, analysis of buckling modes, and the staging of structures considering temporary supports and changes in the static system during assembly. He also discussed bearing modeling, including elasticity, directional releases, and clearances, as well as the influence of thermomechanical coupling on displacements, stresses, and stability reserves.
